Getting started
Prerequisites: A computer (prefferrably running Windows) and/with a webcam.

ScreenGuardian is a computer (Desktop, laptop) app that aids the user in maintaining healthy habits in front of the computer screen by monitoring posture, the user's distance from the screen, and optionally focus. To download ScreenGuardian, click on the following link:

Setup
To begin using ScreenGuardian, unzip the dist file and extract it's contents or with any zip file tool and for ease of access, create a desktop shortcut on windows by right clicking the "ScreenGuardian.exe" file, clicking "send to" and then "desktop (create shortcut)" on windows.

Once you run the app, it has to be calibrated. start by adjusting the distance slider near the bottom of the screen so that it matches your actual distance from the screen. Sit in a way that is comfortable for you with good posture and if you have enabled task tracking, make sure your eyes are open slightly wider thank usual. Afterwards, press the green [calibrate] button.

You can adjust any of the settings to fit your personal preferences. They will be saved for the next time you launch the app. Settings include enabling/disabling task tracking, the minimum distance your face must be from the screen, the time interval between each break reminder, the amount of time an alert is active before sending out a notification, and the app theme.
Features
ScreenGuardian is capable of running in the background and monitors your posture, distance from the screen, and optionally, it can also monitor your focus.

Your session statistics are shown in the upper right corner of the app window and you can check your daily and weekly statistics at any time by pressing the [view statistics] button under the camera feed, which includes charts.

For the most optimal distance tracking, you can take a quick eye test to find the best distance from the screen for you by clicking the [quick eye test] button under the camera feed. ScreenGuardian uses your device's notification center to send you alerts regarding your activity and also saves each alert in the app's own alert log. Active alerts are shown in red in the "alerts" box.

If you have been in fromt of the screen for too long, ScreenGuardian will reccomend that you take a break. When doing so, make sure to press the [start break] to prevent false alerts. Once you are finished taking a break, make sure to press the [end break] button so that your activity is recorded. If you need any more help, you can access the documentation website or send an email within the app itself.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting
ScreenGuardian saves your activity in text files on your computer's local drive, which takes up more space over time. to save memory on your computer, it is recommended that you clear the files every month by deleting them. If ScreenGuardian is not running, check that you have a camera connected to your computer, if "shape_predictor_68_face_shape.dat" and the "bgs" folder are in the same folder as "ScreenGuardian.exe", and that there are 7 images in the "bgs" folder. If you encounter any more issues, try redownloading the app or contacting support.
